Workforce Training

What Do We Do

Middlesex Community College is recognized by local businesses and state agencies regularly ask the College for assistance in providing training for the employable work force to meet specific job categories.

The Continuing Education and Community Services Office is the first point of contact with the College, identifies and matches Middlesex Community College work force development services with the employer’s needs. Assistance in completing and submitting an application for Work Force Training (T.A.) or other resources available to leverage the business client’s resources, also is provided enabling the employer to leverage valuable recruitment training resources.

MxCC emphasized rapid response, flexible delivery and quality training in meeting each employee’s requirements. MxCC's record of success in start-up and business expansion efforts rests on its ability to carry through all phases of the process from needs assessment and recruitment to follow-on training.

MxCC work force development experts and company representatives assess work force needs and related skill requirements. Together they determine if any of the hundreds of existing College instructional programs/courses fit the employer’s training staff.

When a “customized” training program is needed, hands-on, job based curricula is developed based on the employer’s job classification, skills requirements and production or product development schedule. Curriculum specialists can develop competency-based instruction in conjunction with the employer’s training staff.

In both training options, “tailoring” existing programs, courses and workshops, or “customizing” a training program  for a specific employer, instruction can be  designed to achieve human resource and professional development goals. Training can be delivered for credit, non-credit or as Continuing Education Units.

Cost

The cost for Middlesex Community College to provide corporate or business specific work force training services is dependent upon the services requested.
