What
planned program should I choose?
Deciding which planned program to follow can be difficult! Usually, programs are selected based on one's future career goal. If you are undecided about your career goal, you may want to speak to a counselor located in the Career Development & Counseling Center. To make an appointment or for additional information regarding career options, call the Counseling Office at (860) 343-5826.
If you are relatively sure
of your career goal, you may want to speak to an academic advisor, faculty
member, or program coordinator.
For general information about Middlesex Community College's academic programs, see the current MxCC catalog.
How do I know what classes to take? Required courses for each program can be found in the current MxCC catalog.
The first choice of classes is determined by placement test results and an interview with an advisor or counselor. Assistance is available during registration periods and subsequent semester choices are generally made with an assigned advisor's assistance.
For general assistance in selecting
your classes, you will meet with an academic advisor during Registration,
or you may call the Counseling Office at (860) 343-5826, or the Academic
Support Services Office at (860) 343-5715.
If you have specific questions
about courses within a program, you may wish to speak to a faculty member
or program coordinator.
Transfer
Students
Students who have attended other colleges or universities and wish to transfer credits into a program at MxCC should request that an official transcript be sent to the Admission's Office. They should then speak with an Advisor to determine how these courses will fit into their program.

How
do I know what the courses are about? Course descriptions can be found in the current MxCC catalog.
How
do I schedule classes for next semester?
An academic advisor can assist you in scheduling classes for an upcoming semester. You will be assigned an advisor based on the planned program of study you have chosen during your first semester. To meet with your assigned advisor, check the advisor's office hours, which are posted outside faculty office doors or contact by phone to make an appointment. Also an advising week is scheduled each semester to encourage students to meet with their advisor to review their academic goals. Complete phone and e-mail listing can be found on the College's website. If you have additional questions, you may visit the Career Development and Counseling Center.
If you have specific questions about courses within a program, you may wish to speak to a faculty member or contact the Academic Support Services Office, telephone (860) 343-5715.
Students who have been placed
on probation or academically dismissed must see the Dean of Learning and
Student Development, to schedule classes and establish a plan for academic
improvement. Call (860) 343-5866.
