Poet Bridgford Reading Poem at MxCC

Recently Middlesex Community College was honored to have Wallingford resident Dr. Kim Bridgford present a reading of her poetry, including some from her latest book, Sonnets about World Records. Bridgford delighted the audience by telling them anecdotal background stories on the poems she read.
Bridgford, who has already authored three books, is working on a three-book poetry/photography project on Iceland, Venezuela, and Bhutan. Each of her poetry volumes has garnered awards, including the Donald Justice Poetry Award, and nominations for the Pulitzer and Poets Prizes.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Bridgford is the editor of Dogwood and the online women’s magazine Mezzo Cammin.

Bridgford has been chosen by The Connecticut Poetry Circuit to give a series of readings at various Connecticut colleges. A professor of English at Fairfield University, Bridgford was selected Connecticut Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. She has twice been nominated for U.S. Professor of the Year distinction.
