Middlesex College Preschool Celebrating Week of the Young Child

MIDDLETOWN - Hilary Phelps, Middlesex Community College’s (MxCC) director of Child Development Center, announced that both preschool programs at MxCC will be participating in The Week of the Young Child activities during the week of April 8 through 14, by hosting an art show in the MxCC Library that will demonstrate the skills children learn in preschool.

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children with the purpose being to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

During this special week set aside to promote early learning for children, the MxCC Preschoolers will also participate in a city-wide art show at Russell Library. During the week MxCC preschoolers will be visiting the art show displayed in MxCC Library (located in Chapman Hall) and in the hallway in Snow Hall to view their work. The public is encouraged to come and view the children’s artwork to see the value of preschool education.
