Intercampus Loan for Meriden (ILM) allows Meriden students, faculty, and staff to borrow items from the Jean Burr Smith (JBS) Library at the MxCC Middletown campus, from reQuest: The Connecticut Statewide Library Catalog, and from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan.
Setting up a library account
Patrons must first fill out a library card application (available at the JBS Library on the Middletown Campus or Meriden Campus Administrative Office) and show ID to staff to verify identity.
What can be borrowed
- From the JBS Library: Circulating and popular books, DVDs, CDs, cassettes, and VHS tapes
- From reQuest and Interlibrary Loan: Books, articles, and CDs/DVDs (depending on the lending library)
How to request an item
- JBS Library: Online form or Contact Us
- reQuest: Online through reQuest
- Interlibrary Loan: Online form or Contact Us
Number of requests allowed
- JBS Library: No more than 8 books and 3 media items (CDs, DVDs, etc.)
- reQuest and Interlibrary Loan: 5 items at a time
Picking up an item
Items will be available in the Meriden Campus Administrative Office.
Loan periods, fees, and renewals
- JBS Library: See our borrowing policies.
- reQuest and ILL: Loans and fees are determined by the lending library. For renewals, staff must obtain permission from the lending library.
Returning an item
Items may be returned to the Administrative Offices on the Meriden campus, or JBS Library on the Middletown campus.
