Paintings, Prints and Sculpture

For Immediate Release:
September 14 through November 8, 2007
“Reflections” examines aspects of the gaze in works by 7 contemporary artists. Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines the verb “to gaze” as “to fix the eyes in a steady intent look often with eagerness or studious attention.” This act of looking is shared by each of these works and can be possessed by the subject, the artist, the viewer … and at times an exchange of all three. This exhibition consists of works owned by a private New England collector and secondarily exposes the tastes and personal vision of a single art patron as collector. Includes works by Julia Ambrose, Shalini Bhat, Sasha Benthan, Sally Levering, Francine Liftig, Elizabeth Livingston, and Jean Scott.
The Niche space is located on the first floor of Founders Hall.
Hours: Monday – Thursday - 8am- 8pm and Friday & Saturday - 8am- 4pm
