Prints by Tung Hoang
November 17—January 25, 2008
East Haven printmaker Tung Hoang, uses abstraction as tool for both formal and narrative communication. His work combines urban symbols of the American city with those of village life in his childhood home of Vietnam. These images are evocatively positioned in vacant nondescript backgrounds open to viewer interpretation and decoding. Hoang’s work in printmaking combines woodcut, silkscreen and intaglio processes that employ water based and non-toxic materials.
The Niche space is located on the first floor of Founders Hall.
