Setup Discussion Topic as Gradable

You can setup a discussion topic as gradable, and the a grade column for this discussion topic will be automatically generated in the Gradebook.

Step 1. Create a Discussion Topic
If you have already created the weekly discussion topics on the Discussion Board such as "Week1 Discussions" or "Session 1 Discussions", skip this step and go to Step 2.

a. In Teach tab, go to the Discussions by clicking the Discussions icon . For the MxCC online or on-ground class template, the Discussions is placed the third on the course toolbar (upper right corner).

b. Click Create Topic button.


Step 2. Setup the Discussion Topic as Gradable

a. In Teach tab, click Discussions. Click the Edit Settings icon next to the Discussion Topic.

b. Check the Topic is Gradable box. You may change the Grade book column title to a short title. Check Numeric grade if you grant ponts to the discussion. Enter a max point. Click Save.
