Grade an Assignment

Step 1. Download the assignment and grade it.
In most WebCT Vista courses, Assignments tool is placed in More Tools at the course toolbar.

a. In Teach tab, click More Tools at the upper right corner and select Assignments. If you don't see More Tools, you need to adjust your computer screen resolution to 1024 x 768.

b. The screen will display all assignments if you have more than one assignments for the class. To grade a selected assignment, keep the Submitted tab selected and then select the assignment name at the upper right drop down menu and click the green right arrow. This will display the students who have submitted the assignments.

c. Click the Review Submission link next to a student name under Title.

d. Click the file name link. When prompted Open or Save, select Save. Save the file to your computer.

e. Open the file with MS Word and write your comments. Save the file with your initials.

Step 2. Upload the assignment file with comments and grade.

a. Once you complete grading, log back on to Vista. Repeat the Step 1. a. to go to the assignment submission page.

b. Write your comments in the Grader/Reviewer Comments box. Check "Return Graded Submissions to Students with the following grade." Enter the grade at the bottom box. Click Save button at the bottom.

c. If you would like to return the student's assignment with your comments, click Add Attachments button. It is advised that you create a folder to save student files for an assignment. Click Create Folder button. Enter a name for the folder and click OK.

d. Click the folder you just created. Click Upload File. Click Browse. Locate the student's assignment file with your comments. Double-click the file. The file will be attached and click Save button. The file will be uploaded to the folder.

e. Click Add Selected and the file is then attached to the assignment comments page .
