Learning Module- View, Download, or Print a Non-Web Based File

These instructions apply to
non-web based files such as ".rtf", ".doc", ".ppt", ".xls", or ".mdb" files.
- In the Table of Content, click a file title in the left split-window (.ppt file). You are asked to either Open or Save the file. To view the file, click Open. .ppt is a PowerPoint file that will be displayed in a PowerPoint window. To open a .ppt file, you need to have MS PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer installed to your computer.
- To Save the same .ppt file to your computer, close the PowerPoint window. Click the file title again. You are asked to either Open or Save the file. Click Save.
- To better organize your file, you should create a class folder and save all class-related files in the folder.
- Click My Documents. Click the New Folder icon and give the folder a name. Double-click the folder. Click Save. Click Close to close the download window.
- To open the saved file, minimize the Blackboard window by clicking the "minimize" icon on the upper right corner.
- Double-click My Documents on the Desktop and double-click the file folder.
- Double-click the file to open it.
- To print the file, go to File and select Print, under Print What boxes, select Handouts and Pure Black&White. You may select number of slides per page to print the PowerPoit file.
- Click OK to confirm.
