Common problems when logging on to Blackboard Vista
The following are common errors you may see if you attempt to enter to your online class through myCommNet (http://my.commnet.edu).
Error 1 : When you click on the Blackboard Vista icon, a small box appears and disappears quickly and you don't see the next page.
This problem might be caused by pop-up blockers built in your web browser or software on your computer. All pop-up blockers need to be turned off including the pop-up blockers associated with your browsers (e.g. IE) and any other software packages installed on your PC (e.g. Norton, Yahoo, Google, AOL Toolbars, as they come with their own popup blockers that should be turned off).

Reset your password to the initial password
(1). Reset your password on your own at https://www.commnet.edu/netid/password.aspx
(2) Stop by the following offices (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm) to make your request. Make sure you bring a Photo ID.(3) For online students who are unable to come to campus during our office hours, a. FAX your request with a photo ID to (860) 344 – 7488. Write down and provide with the following in your FAX: Attention to: Distance Learning, your name, Banner ID, phone#, birth date, last four digit of your social security number, requesting to have your NetID password reset, signature, and Photo ID (Student ID or Driver’s License). After you FAX the request, notify Distance Learning staff at mxccdistance@mxcc.commnet.edu. Your request will be processed during Distance Learning office hours. or b. You may also use this Password Reset Form and FAX your request to the Record's Office at 860-344-3055.
