Attaching
a File to a Mail Message

Your instructor may ask you to send a class assignment such as research paper as an attachment in Blackboard Mail.
1. Enter the Mail tool by clicking
or
(located in Course Tools).
2. Click Create Message to open the message window.
3. Click Browse for Recipients. Look for your instructor's name and check the To box next to the instructor's name. Click Save.
4. Type the subject in the Subject box.
5. Type the message in the Message Box.
6. Click Add Attachments. Select My Files (or Class Files), click My Computer. Locate the file on your computer and double-click the file.
7. You will see the file listed underneath Add Attachments button.
8. Click Send.
9. If you'd like to confirm that your message was sent, click the Sent Mail folder. Seeing the message you just sent with the attached file confirms that your message has been successfully sent.
* Before you attach a file, scan the file by a virus protection software to make sure that the file is virus-free.
