Board
40% of final grade
In order to receive full credit for the discussion board, you must log on
weekly
and respond to the current question as well as interact with your classmates.
You must respond to at least two other postings in order to receive full
credit.
There will be 2-3 Discussion Questions each week. You will be graded on how
completely you answer the assigned discussion questions and by the quality of
your responses to the other postings. No credit will be given if your
assignments are posted after one week unless arrangements have been made prior
with the instructor. You may obtain 8 points per week; 3 points for each
discussion question, and 2 points for your other interactions (1 point per
interaction). Please use the grading rubric below for your discussion question
responses:

Find an article (using website, newspaper, magazine) pertaining to a new
finding about the human body, disease, etc. This Paper should be approximately
one page in length, double spaced and 12 font. This assignment will be posted
on the Discussion Board so that everyone can share their information they found
with their classmates.
This

3. Term
Paper 40%
of final grade
You are to write a 4 to 5 page paper on a topic related to a disease or illness.
You are to use a minimum of four references. Your sources cannot be older than 5 years.
The paper should be typed, double space, and no larger than 12 font. Please make sure you include in your paper a definition/explanation of what the disease is and what body system(s) are affected. Since this is a human biology course, I would expect that most of the paper would include how the body system(s) are affected in detail. Then you may proceed to include signs and symptoms of the disease, how it is diagnosed, and then treatment options.
Use correct grammar, punctuation and full sentences. Also you should include a bibliography and reference citations within the paper. Please use the grading rubric below as a guide for your paper.

college officials will provide assistance and/or accommodations only to those
students who have completed this process.”
