MxCC Math Professor Selected to Lead Discussion Group at International Congress of Mathematical Education Event to be Held in Seoul» Friday, May 18, 2012 Middlesex Community College will be sending the only Connecticut math teacher to present at the 12th International Congress on Mathematical Education, which will be held July 8-15, 2012 in Seoul, Korea. MxCC Student Body Honors Professor Patty Raymond with Professional Service Award» Thursday, May 17, 2012 Middlesex Community College students have selected Professor Patty Raymond, Chair of the Business Division, as the “2012 Professional Service Award” recipient. This award, now in its fourteenth year, was created by the MxCC Student Activities Office to give students a chance to vote for the faculty member that has provided outstanding service and guidance. It was presented to Professor Raymond by Danezia Cordero, Student Senate President, at the annual MxCC Foundation Scholarship Reception on May 11.
Danezia Cordero of Meriden Selected to Receive MxCC Student Senate Prize» Tuesday, May 15, 2012 The Middlesex Community College has selected Danezia Cordero from Meriden as its 2012 Student Senate Prize recipient for going “above and beyond” in her duties as a Student Senate member. Cordero, who is currently serving as MxCC Student Senate president, is a second-year student who has devoted her time and talents to help in the planning, promotion and implementation of activities and events at the College. Additionally, she has consistently excelled academically, and has maintained the required GPA to qualify for the award. The $150 prize was awarded to Cordero during the May 11 MxCC Foundation Scholarship reception.
Forty-one MxCC Students Receive Scholarships» Monday, May 14, 2012 The Middlesex Community College Foundation, Inc., hosted its annual Scholarship Reception and presenting awards to 41 students. All winners were selected by the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee which reviewed completed applications and ensured all criteria was met. Students received their awards, which totaled more than $32,500 combined, at a May 11 ceremony on campus.
