College Success Learning Communities

Foster a Stronger Connection to MxCC
Learning Community Students Fall 2007

For fall 2008, Middlesex Community College will offer two "College Success Learning Communities," one at the Meriden Center and one at the Middletown Campus.

Middletown Campus Learning Community
  • FS100 CRN: 3174 M,W 11:00-12:20
  • MAT095 CRN: 3214 T,TH 9:30-10:50
  • ENG063 CRN: 3135 T,TH 11-12:20

If students would like to be full time, they are encouraged to work with MxCC advisors to select an additional course.

Meriden Center
  • FS100 CRN: 3331 M,W 10:30-11:50
  • ENG063 CRN:3301 M,W 12:00- 1:20

If students would like to be full time, they are encouraged to select other appropriate courses with MxCC advisors. Math and reading are highly encouraged. Review placement test results with advisors.

The purpose of the Learning Community is to ease students' transition to college; offer more individualized attention from faculty; provide an integrative approach to course work; sharpen critical thinking skills; encourage skill use across the curriculum; build a solid base for students to launch their college years; and inspire persistence to next semester.
