			<description>The Artists for World Peace Foundation has established a new Artist’s Fund for students studying art, digital arts, music, theatre, broadcast cinema or multimedia at Middlesex Community College.  The new fund, which will be administered by the MxCC Foundation, will help students pay for art supplies, materials and student kits required for the different arts courses offered at the college.  Eligible students may apply for the funds each semester by completing the forms available online at www.mxcc.commnet.edu and at www.mxccfoundation.org.</description>

In winning the Overall Open Championship, Brian Nelson, 31, set a new record time for the course: 16 minutes, 32 seconds, smashing the previous record of 17:11 held by Brendan Atkin of Old Lyme. </description>

			<description>If you build it, they will want it.  That’s the idea behind the Middlesex Community College Computer Club’s new effort to give a custom-built computer away to a fellow MxCC student.  To win the computer, current MxCC students are asked to write a 200-500 word essay outlining why they need a computer or how it will benefit their family.  Essays are due by November 21 and must be submitted to the Student Activities Office, Room 122 in Founders Hall. Opticians from throughout the U.S. and Canada participated in the contest, which was hosted by the Contact Lens Society of America.  Davidson also came in third place in the Optical Skills Challenge, and advanced to the final round of the National Federation of Opticianry Schools (NFOS) College Bowl, where he represented MxCC.</description>

			<description>It was an historic, and windy, night for Middlesex Community College during its 44th graduation ceremony, which was held on June 2.  The college graduated 336 students – the largest group in the college’s recent history – who received associate degrees or certificates in the arts and sciences from 28 different disciplines.  As part of the ceremony, MxCC conferred an honorary degree for only the second time in its history.  And, as another historic first, MxCC streamed the entire ceremony live on the Internet at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/MxCC, which was accessed by nearly 100 people during the event.</description>

Financial aid administrators offer this service at no charge.
