Tad earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut with a double major in mechanical engineering and metallurgy.  He worked in the engineering field for many years in design, applications, and manufacturing.  He was involved in the start up of a small Chinese subsidiary of a U.S. engineering and manufacturing firm, for which he served as general manager.  He lived in China for several years while in this role.

Tad also earned a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in economics, with a concentration in international economics and business. He has taught college-level courses in economics, management, human resources, marketing, American government, and international relations.  Through his academic and work experience, he has become an expert in Chinese and Japanese International Political Economy and U.S. Global Economic Strategy. While living in those two countries, he taught English, business and communications courses.

One of Tad’s greatest achievements at MxCC has been the dramatic growth of the Legislative Internship Program, which gives MxCC students direct experience working for a legislator at the Connecticut State Capitol Building in Hartford. No other community college in Connecticut has more legislative interns in Hartford than Middlesex Community College.

During his career, Tad has lived overseas for more than six years.  He enjoys travel and has visited more than 40 countries to date.
