Education To Go Online Courses

Middlesex Community College partners with EducationToGo (Ed2Go), one of the leading online course providers in the world, to offer over 500 courses every month. All courses are instructor-facilitated and taught by many nationally-known authors and professionals. Courses typically run for 6 weeks with a 2-week grace period at the end (approximately 2 months) and are available 24/7 once the course starts.  Courses consist of 12 2-hour modules, and take approximately 24 hours to complete. For most software-applications’ courses, students must have the software version listed under “Requirements” in the online course information.  Please visit our website at: www.ed2go.com/mxcc for more information on specific courses and to explore other areas of interest.  We've included a sample of online courses below.

LERN Social Media for Business Certificate

For businesses, non-profits, government, or other organizations. Social Media/Networking is the fastest growing way to communicate, market, and serve customers and clients. Facebook, Twitter, blogging, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. offers opportunities and ways to communicate across all social networks. This program will show how social networks are used to develop two-way communication with potential customers and how to utilize them in your marketing
strategies. Learn what you can be doing, what you should be doing, and take back a plan to integrate social networks into your communication and marketing. Whether you are new to social networks or already involved, you will come away with both an understanding of social media potential and practical, how-to techniques to integrate social networks into your organization or business. This Certificate consists of 3 month-long courses. To receive the certificate, all quizzes must be passed.

(Course 1) Introduction to Social Media

Expand from in-person to online communication.  Learn what social networks are and their role in your business and personal life.  Find out the top sites and how businesses are using these sites for communication, customer retention, branding, marketing, market research, needs assessment and serving customers and clients.  Explore the options for your organization.  Look at case studies of what other organizations are doing using Facebook, YouTube, etc.  Instructor: Jennifer Selke, Ph.D.

(Course 2) Marketing Using Social Media

Develop a two-way communication and marketing strategy for your organization using social networks.  You’ll explore several major social networks and learn quick, easy ways to use Twitter, blogs, and LinkedIn to engage your customers or clients and keep them interested in your organization or business. You’ll find out the advantages and disadvantages of each, and learn what’s right for your work and kind of organization. Instructor: Suzanne Kart, Director of Marketing, Learning Resources Network.

(Course 3) Integrating Social Media in Your Organization

Take away a practical strategy and techniques for implementing social networks for your organization or business.  Learn how to create your own private social network using Ning, work socially using Google Docs and calendars, and move your web site to an interactive Web 2.0 site. You’ll learn which social network tools are right for your situation, and then be able to integrate them into your web site to develop a social networking strategy for your organization.
