Memoir Writing : Stories From Your Life
This course will help you tap into your memory to create interesting and meaningful stories from your life experiences. You will learn techniques to enhance your writing skills and receive coaching and feedback when you share your stories in class. Beginning and experienced writers will find value in this course that emphasizes personal stories told from the heart. Students should bring a threering binder to class. Marlene Clark has her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Central Connecticut State University, extensive teaching experience in Memoir Writing throughout the state and has served as an editor and writer for the Hartford Courant since 1987.
So, You’ve Always Wanted to Write? – Creative Writing for Adults
Have you always had the urge to write – or to write more? Well, this is the time – your time to explore and strengthen your creative writing skills and apply them to a new or existing creative writing project—or possibly earn extra income. You will learn how to show and not tell, write snappy dialogue, and create complex characters! You will be given exercises in how to develop plot and setting. Come and explore your creative side in a nurturing setting, and gain the insight and discipline required for the craft of storytelling and writing short fiction. Plus—hints on how to get motivated and on how to market!
