Software Developer Certificate Program

You enjoy working with others in groups and teams. You like finding solutions to problems. You have great interpersonal communication skills and strong interests in business and technology. Now you can take your skills and interests to the next level – an exciting career in one of the most in-demand, fast-growing career areas out there - Information Technologies.

Middlesex Community College offers three different and dynamic certificate programs in this field to prepare you for work in Communications Networking, Software Development and Help Desk Technician areas.

This certificate targets the skills required in the field of software development, including algorithm design, flowchart design, writing database and Visual Basic program code, designing test plans, implementing the systems development life cycle including planning, designing, implementing, and testing phases. Students will problem solve, learn about the foundation for the programming industry and explore two programming languages. Certificate recipients may seek entry-level jobs as help desk/technical support professionals, programmers and more.

Academic Requirements

The Software Developer Certificate program is an 18-credit program that prepares you to work as a database or Visual Basic programmer. Courses required by these certificates may transfer to the respective Associate Degree program at MxCC.
