The Health Career Pathways Certificate
Middlesex Community College will prepare you for success in health care
programs that lead to careers in medical offices, hospitals, labs and
clinical settings.
This
program is designed to assist students to achieve success in health
care programs. Students will be provided with the foundation necessary
for health care professions. Credits from this program may be applied
toward health care programs requirements within Connecticut’s Community
College system. However, completion of this program does not guarantee
an automatic acceptance into any health care program. Students
interested in this program should contact Judy Wallace, Associate
Professor of Biology/Anatomy and Physiology at ext. 5780.
Academic Requirements
The Health Career Pathways Certificate program is a 28-credit track of
study that typically takes just under two years to finish. This program
gives you a foundation in health care as you prepare to work in a
health care profession. Credits from this program may be applied toward
health care programs within the state’s community college system. You will experience an exciting range of coursework, including chemistry, psychology, anatomy & physiology and more. Following
your experience in this program, you will have strong written and oral
communications skills, problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret
medical terminology and an understanding of basic principles related to
the health care field.
