Robed faculty and staff marching in the academic procession should assemble by rank junior to senior in two rows  between Snow and Wheaton Halls by 5: 15 p.m. so that Commencement can start at 6 p.m.

The left row will be seated in the left section facing the stage and right row will be seated in the right section.
New this year, program coordinators will lead the candidates for graduation in their program and will announce the graduates by name.  Please arrive by 4:45 p.m. to assist Judy Mazgulski in lining up the graduates.  Signage will be placed to line up candidates alphabetically by degree: AA-AS Certificates. Pick up your graduate name cards at the staff table in the area and distribute them to your candidates.  Be sure to check with the students for the correct pronunciation of their name.  If a student is receiving more than one degree and is marching with your program, you should note this on the name card and announce the second degree when you call the graduate to the stage.  Program coordinators will process as the leader of the degree program and be seated with the candidates.  When your program is called by Dean Maslin, lead your candidates to the right side of the stage area.  Approach the microphone and call your graduates to the stage.  Candidates will hand their cards to you so that you may announce their name.  Keep graduate name cards in order.  Please return the cards to the designated committee member in the area.  You will then be seated with the faculty and staff on the right side of the audience for the remainder of the Commencement.

Also new this year is procession order.   The Manchester Regional Police and Fire Pipe Band will lead the procession followed by students, led by Student Marshals.  Faculty will follow.  Then two Student Marshals will lead in the platform dignitaries.

Recession order will be platform dignitaries, faculty and staff by seniority followed by students. We will continue the tradition of lining the center aisle upon recession allowing the new graduates to pass through.  It’s a nice time to recognize them with handshakes, hugs and smiles for their accomplishments.

Professor Greg Horne will serve as Grand Marshal this year.  Student Senate President Amie Northam will provide the Greeting from Student Senate.

Faculty and staff are expected to wear all appropriate robing including caps during the ceremony and set the appropriate celebratory tone to recognize the students' accomplishments. Faculty and staff who have rented regalia, please return your regalia in its package to the designated area outside of the Multipurpose Rooms in Chapman Hall.

If you wish to purchase your own regalia in future years, please see Nancy in the Bookstore for more information or visit www.oakhalli.com (Oak Hall Industries).
