Introduction to AutoCAD

Explore the basic concepts within the AutoCAD environment and its features. Learn the basic drawing “entities” and how to use the screen. CAD proficiency is achieved by manipulating the drawing “entities” using editing commands. The power of the computer in technical drawing is then demonstrated by the changing of “entities” and controlling information commands.

Intermediate AutoCAD

Once the basic drawing is done, CAD users must learn to annotate drawings with dimensions and text. They can then learn to embellish and leverage information with the use of complex repetitive units and the controls entities using variables and information commands and paper space. Prerequisite: Introduction to AutoCAD.

Advanced AutoCAD

This course is designed around AutoCAD’s 3-D features and through extensive hands-on exercises, teaches students to create more complex 3-D constructions. Then one must be able to see in 3-D by producing shaded and hidden prospective images. All of the topics learned are then consolidated by working as a team to produce a complex 3-D model. Prerequisite: Intermediate AutoCAD.
