The Business & Industry Center

MxCC's Business & Industry Center (B&IC) is a part of the Workforce Development, Continuing Education, and Community Services division.  Celebrating over 20 years of service to the business community, the B&IC was established in response to a shortage of comprehensive workforce training services.  Connecticut now has an  established, statewide network, which provides incoming students and companies with a variety of short-term workforce training programs, workshops, seminars, and business needs assessments. A company or student from anywhere in the state can contact us and be referred to the division closest to them. This collaborative partnership across the Connecticut Community College system provides flexibility, easy-access, and a quick response to the needs of companies and students.

The B&IC is proud to offer a variety of public-offering and custom-designed training programs and services for individuals and businesses of all sizes. We respond to employees and employers' training needs with a dynamic array of services targeting business growth and success.

B&IC programs are driven by employers through our workforce advisory committees to ensure that graduates can identify current job opportunities and exit with the confidence that their skills are in-demand.  Program content can also be customized for specific businesses to align our curriculum with specific training needs.   MxCC offers programs at our main campus in Middletown, our Meriden Center, on-site at a local business, and even online.
